Biennale – Paris 2018

For its participation at the Paris Biennale 2018, Galerie Jacques Lacoste honoured an important group of creations of the 20^th century Decorative Arts : Jean Royère, Pierre Chareau, Marc Du Plantier, Jean Dunand, Alberto Giacometti, Georges Jouve and André Borderie ; as well as pieces by major artists of the 20^th century : Jean Arp, Mucio Fontana, Wassily Kandinsky and Pablo Picasso.

For this edition, the gallery exhibited a rare set by Jean Royère, with each piece in its exceptional original condition : the Ours Polaire sofa, the Flaque coffee table in straw marquetry and a pair of Boulette armchairs.

These pieces, commissioned for Jean Royère around 1965, were acquired from the family of the first owner, Monsieur C., and were revealed to the public for the first time during the fair.
